Technical Specialist Cable & Survey

A leading offshore grid operator is seeking a Technical Specialist for Cable & Survey activities across offshore assets in the Dutch North Sea. The role focuses on planning and supervising offshore cable inspection campaigns, analysing survey outputs, ensuring QA/QC of contractor deliverables, and providing technical support to maintenance and engineering teams. English is acceptable as the primary working language, and relocation support is available for strong candidates.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead operational and maintenance survey activities for offshore cables and platforms.
• Supervise contractors during offshore inspection campaigns and safeguard quality and compliance.
• Analyse survey results using GIS tools (ArcGIS, Global Mapper or equivalent) and provide structured feedback.
• Assure documentation quality, data accuracy and timely progress of inspection service providers.
• Support tendering, negotiation and contracting activities related to offshore inspection services.
• Provide technical input to maintenance and engineering teams to optimise asset integrity.
• Contribute to internal standards for data quality, cable integrity management and offshore inspections.

Education & Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Surveying, GIS, Geomatics, Marine Engineering or a related discipline
• 3+ years of experience in offshore survey, cable inspections, marine data analysis or GIS-based offshore work
• Proficiency in ArcGIS, Global Mapper or equivalent GIS/mapping tools
• Proven ability to assure data quality and review technical documentation
• Experience collaborating with contractors or offshore service providers
• Strong communication skills; English required
• Ability to support offshore inspection missions when required

Nice to haves

• Experience with offshore cable installation or maintenance
• Familiarity with North Sea offshore operations
• Background in cable integrity, subsea inspections or marine warranty
• QA/QC experience related to geophysical or geotechnical survey datasets
