Role overview
A confidential organisation in the advanced nuclear sector is seeking an Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Engineer I to support the design and integration of I&C systems for a UK-based Small Modular Reactor (SMR) programme.
This is an entry-level role suited to early-career engineers looking to develop their skills within a highly regulated, safety-critical engineering environment.
Key responsibilities
- Support the development of I&C system requirements and technical documentation.
- Assist with control logic descriptions and interface documentation.
- Participate in internal design reviews and engineering discussions.
- Support vendor technical evaluations and data reviews.
- Work under the guidance of senior I&C engineers to develop technical capability.
Required experience and qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Control, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Early-career experience, graduate placements, or relevant internships.
- Strong interest in working within regulated engineering environments.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable
- Exposure to control systems, automation, or instrumentation.
