Key Responsibilities of the Role
- Shall report directly to the Mechanical Construction Manager and ultimately the Mechanical Project Manager.
- Ensuring that all mechanical sub-contractors are working according to their works schedule as well as any priority items identified to ensure project goals.
- Tracking of sub-contractor progress against the project schedule. Being able to identify when works aren’t progressing as required to meet the project schedule.
- In the case of schedule slippages by sub-contractors, the Supervisor (in conjunction with the Mechanical Construction Manager) shall work with the subcontractor supervisor to ensure a mitigation plan is made available as well as ensuring that this plan is acted upon, and therefore schedule is recovered.
- Ensuring that all mechanical sub-contractors are working in a co-ordinated manner with all other sub-contractors (i.e., Mechanical, Electrical, CSA) to achieve the overall project objectives.
- Being able to identify open work fronts for sub-contractors and therefore pushing for works to commence/progress in these areas.
- Management of Site Safety in conjunction with the Safety Advisor(s), particularly with regards the sub-contractors of which you are responsible.
- Ensuring sub-contractors are working according to their RAMS.
- Reviewing and signing off sub-contractor Safe Plans of Acon (SPAs).
- Ensuring sub-contractors are working as per their SPAs.
- Ensuring all required work permits are submitted and approved by the subcontractors on time.
- Management of QA of the mechanical systems in conjunction with the QA Manager.
- Ensuring that sub-contractors are installing as per their Quality & Inspection/Testing Plans as well as approved Benchmarks.
- In conjunction with the Mechanical Engineers, ensuring that all installed material and equipment match the approved technical submittals.
- Inspection and snagging of mechanical systems as they are offered for handover by the sub-contractors.
- Ensuring that all snags identified are closed out by the sub-contractors in a timely fashion.
- Ensuring that all mechanical sub-contractors are able to work on a day-to-day basis ahead of time. I.e., working with the sub-contractor supervisors to ensure that they have all materials available, all access equipment available, their work areas are available etc.
- Management of all sub-contractor systems testing and eventual handover to the Commissioning team.
- Assisting the Commissioning Team as required to ensure that project commissioning goals are met.
- Attendance at all site meetings as required, i.e., morning whiteboards, DABs meeting, collaborative planning meetings, EHS meetings, QA meetings, sub-contractor progress meetings etc.
- Production of own daily site report as well as receiving daily reports from sub-contractors.
- Ensuring that sub-contractors are using the correct delivery procedures.
- In conjunction with the Mechanical Engineers, ensuring that sub-contractor material deliveries comply with their approved technical submittals.
Your Qualifications and Key Criteria
- 3+ Years in a supervision or construction management role
- Proven experience co-ordinating sub-contractors
- Self-driven and able to work on their own initiative
- A mechanical trade or engineering background
- History of working on Data Centre projects preferred but not essential
- Ability to use MS Office programmes
- Ability to use construction software, i.e., view drawings, QA software etc.
- Fluent English
- Ability to work in Germany. EU citizenship highly preferred
