Key Responsibilities of the Role
- Manage and orchestrate multiple mechanical contracts concurrently, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and milestone management from conception to completion.
- Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure projects meet client specifications, timelines, and budget targets.
- Conduct regular on-site visits and inspections to monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Establish and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors; negotiate contracts and agreements as needed.
- Oversee financial aspects of each contract, including cost control, budgeting, forecasting, and value management.
- Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, codes, standards, and health and safety regulations; implement controls to monitor budgeted or agreed expenditures.
- Liaise with internal departments to ensure timely and within-budget delivery of projects.
- Support proposal and bid preparation for new contracts.
- Implement cost and value procedures and produce commercial reports for senior management in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with Directors and Site Managers to identify risks or issues and determine appropriate resolutions.
- Issue monthly progress reports to Senior Management/Directors.
- Work with Senior Management/Directors to align contracts with broader business objectives.
- Foster productive, collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients.
Your Qualifications and Key Criteria
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; strong mechanical background.
- 10+ years of experience as a Project/Contracts Manager in the mechanical HVAC sector.
- Experience managing mechanical packages on Life Science, large-scale semiconductor, or data center projects for an M&E contractor is essential.
- Thorough knowledge of mechanical, HVAC, and process systems, including design, installation, and operation.
- Excellent project management skills: planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities; proven success in building and maintaining client, supplier, and subcontractor relationships.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and perform under pressure.
- Willingness and ability to travel within Europe as needed.
- Valid full driving license.
