Key Responsibilities of the Role
- Management of Site Safety in conjunction with the company Safety Advisor. This will include attending weekly safety meetings and distribution of information from those meeting to the site team.
- Holding daily/weekly toolbox talks.
- Management of Site QA in conjunction with the Mechanical Package Manager.
- Provide input to and the management of Project Schedule in conjunction with other trades, Package Leads, consulting Engineer and Client requirements.
- Manage the on site coordination of activities with other trades.
- Assist with the management of all costs associated with your package including:
- Company Mechanical Team
- Sub-contractors
- Material deliveries and goods receipting.
- Plant and Equipment
- Variations
- Valuations
- Management of all day to day on site operations.
- Management of sub-contractor activities including tracking progress against schedule and manpower levels. Ensure that there is a weekly minute meeting with sub-contractor.
- Management of the company “In Progress” snagging system ensuring that you return weekly punch lists where applicable.
- Issue direct labour hours and sub-contractor hours to time administrator for tracking centrally.
- Attendance at Site Meetings, Internal Project Reviews, Engineering Reviews, Planning and Co-ordination Meetings and Handover Meetings.
- Attendance on System Walkdowns, both internal and Client.
- Management and close out of all punch items.
- Ensure correct revision drawings are being used for the completion of construction activities.
- Ensure RLMU’s are provided for all completed works.
- Implement a weekly look ahead ensuring co-ordination with other trades.
- Issue internal weekly progress report. This will highlight progress percentage complete based on WBS codes and any concerns. It should also highlight any risk elements within the control of company, e.g. late deliveries.
- Schedule & Track material deliveries to correspond with the project schedule.
- Maintain a weekly project photographic diary.
- All other duties associated with this role and/or reasonably required by the Company. The Company reserves the right to vary the scope and nature of the Employee’s normal duties to take into account changes in the Company’s work patterns and practices and the requirements of its business.
Your Qualifications and Key Criteria
- A minimum of 6 years as a Mechanical Construction Manager
- Previous experience in a Process Piping Project
- Previous experience in the Pharma sector
- Good strong knowledge of the full design and construction process
- Ability to control and manage people and programs
- Professional certification Trade Qualified
- Travel will be required for this position.
- Proven record of co-ordinating and managing large projects
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure and within a strict deadline environment
- Ability to drive a large-scale project
- Computer skills – Windows, MS Office and MS Project
