Key Responsibilities of the Role
- Manage and coordinate specialist mechanical and electrical contractors.
- Coordinate day-to-day building services activities and personnel across assigned projects.
- Programme building services activities, equipment requirements and deliveries in line with project schedules.
- Chair and minute building services coordination and commissioning meetings.
- Coordinate information and documentation relating to building services packages.
- Develop and maintain commissioning programmes.
- Coordinate and support system start-up, testing and commissioning.
- Assist with Safety Files, O&M manuals and handover documentation.
- Coordinate client training and demonstrations ahead of handover.
- Support post-handover and aftercare activities.
- Provide building services input during tender and pre-construction stages.
- Support estimating teams with technical information and work proposals.
- Assist with financial analysis of building services packages and technical options.
- Work with design teams, architects, clients, construction teams and specialist subcontractors to resolve coordination issues.
Your Qualifications and Key Criteria
- Ideally 2+ years’ relevant building services, MEP coordination or engineering experience.
- Previous Building Services Coordinator or MEP Coordinator experience is advantageous but not essential for the right candidate.
- Level 7 or Level 8 qualification in Building Services, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline, would be advantageous.
- Candidates with a strong mechanical or electrical trade background and relevant building services experience will also be considered.
- Good technical understanding of mechanical and electrical building services.
- Excellent communication, coordination and stakeholder-management skills.
- Confidence chairing meetings and bringing different project stakeholders together.
- Strong organisational, time-management and practical problem-solving skills.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- AutoCAD, Revit and/or Navisworks experience would be advantageous.
