Key Responsibilities of the Role
- Inspect welding activities during fabrication and site installation.
- Verify welder qualifications, WPS/PQR compliance and welding consumable control.
- Witness fit-up, welding, post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) and NDT activities.
- Inspect P22/P91 alloy welds and ensure material traceability is maintained.
- Raise and close inspection records, non-conformance reports (NCRs) and punch items.
- Coordinate with third-party NDT providers and client inspectors.
- Review weld maps, weld logs and quality dossiers.
- Support pressure testing, turnover and handover documentation.
Your Qualifications and Key Criteria
- Current CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector certification – mandatory.
- Recognised mechanical or welding trade apprenticeship – mandatory.
- Current Safe Pass.
- Minimum 5 years of industrial welding inspection experience.
- Experience with high-pressure steam and process piping.
- Extensive knowledge of carbon steel, stainless steel and P22/P91 alloy welding.
- Experience with RT, UT, MT, PT and PMI inspection methods.
- Power generation, energy, pharmaceutical or mission-critical project experience.
- Knowledge of EN 13480, ASME B31.1/B31.3 and PED requirements is desirable.
- High attention to detail, integrity, strong communication and a documentation-focused approach.
