Welding Inspector (CSWIP)

Key Responsibilities of the Role

• Inspect welding activities during fabrication and site installation.
• Verify welder qualifications, WPS/PQR compliance and welding consumable control.
• Witness fit-up, welding, post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) and NDT activities.
• Inspect P22/P91 alloy welds and ensure material traceability is maintained.
• Raise and close inspection records, non-conformance reports (NCRs) and punch items.
• Coordinate with third-party NDT providers and client inspectors.
• Review weld maps, weld logs and quality dossiers.
• Support pressure testing, turnover and handover documentation.

Your Qualifications and Key Criteria

• Current CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector certification – mandatory.
• Recognised mechanical or welding trade apprenticeship – mandatory.
• Current Safe Pass.
• Minimum 5 years of industrial welding inspection experience.
• Experience with high-pressure steam and process piping.
• Extensive knowledge of carbon steel, stainless steel and P22/P91 alloy welding.
• Experience with RT, UT, MT, PT and PMI inspection methods.
• Power generation, energy, pharmaceutical or mission-critical project experience.
• Knowledge of EN 13480, ASME B31.1/B31.3 and PED requirements is desirable.
• High attention to detail, integrity, strong communication and a documentation-focused approach.
