Key Responsibilities of the Role

• Develop project and category procurement plans aligned with programme and commercial priorities.
• Source and procure mechanical, electrical and specialist engineering materials, equipment and services.
• Issue enquiries, analyse bids, negotiate terms and prepare award recommendations.
• Secure competitive pricing, compliant technical submissions, required lead times and clear delivery commitments.
• Manage supplier relationships, performance, expediting, risk and corrective actions.
• Work with engineering, estimating, commercial, manufacturing and project teams to confirm specifications and demand.
• Identify supply-chain risk, alternative sources, value-engineering options and opportunities for standardisation.
• Maintain accurate purchase orders, procurement schedules, savings records and reporting.
• Support framework agreements and continuous improvement of procurement processes.

Your Qualifications and Key Criteria

• Relevant procurement, supply-chain, engineering or commercial qualification, or equivalent experience.
• Strong buying experience within MEP, construction, engineering, manufacturing or industrial projects.
• Working knowledge of technical equipment, materials, specifications and supplier markets.
• Proven negotiation, supplier-management and commercial-analysis skills.
• Ability to manage multiple high-priority packages and long-lead items.
• Strong systems, reporting, Excel and communication capability.

Desirable Additional Experience

• CIPS qualification or active professional development.
• Experience with international supply chains, modular construction or fabrication-led delivery.
