Key Responsibilities of the Role
- Analyse CSA drawings, specifications, bills, schedules and employer requirements.
- Complete detailed quantity take-offs and build elemental estimates and cost plans.
- Coordinate subcontract and supplier enquiries and complete like-for-like comparisons.
- Assess construction methodology, logistics, temporary works, phasing and programme implications.
- Identify design gaps, scope interfaces, risks, opportunities and value-engineering proposals.
- Collaborate with MEP estimators, planners, designers, procurement and delivery teams.
- Prepare tender summaries, qualifications and adjudication packs for senior review.
- Support tender interviews, clarifications, negotiations and project handover.
- Maintain pricing intelligence and improve CSA estimating templates and benchmarks.
Your Qualifications and Key Criteria
- Degree or trade/technical qualification in Quantity Surveying, Civil/Structural Engineering or Construction.
- Relevant estimating experience across civil, structural and architectural packages.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, measurement, subcontract procurement and cost build-up.
- Ability to interrogate design information and communicate scope clearly.
- High level of accuracy, commercial awareness and deadline management.
- Strong Excel skills and familiarity with digital take-off or estimating platforms.
Desirable Additional Experience
- Structural steel, concrete, envelope or industrial-building experience.
- Experience on mission-critical, life-science, manufacturing or logistics projects.
