Key Responsibilities of the Role
- Lead commercial management of assigned projects, reporting to the Commercial Director.
- Manage the subcontractor procurement process efficiently and in a timely manner. -Prepare and manage contract trade budgets; perform budget cost analysis for all packages.
- Negotiate with subcontractors and manage subcontractor appointments, accounts, and payments.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts and interim valuations; manage change orders.
- Support agreement of final accounts with the PQS (Project/Pre-Qualification Survey or equivalent).
- Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial risks; contribute to value engineering efforts.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and key stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
- Mentor and develop junior members of the QS team, promoting professional growth and knowledge sharing.
Your Qualifications and Key Criteria
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar Quantity Surveying role; at least 10 years in the construction industry.
- Degree-qualified in Construction Economics, Quantity Surveying, or an equivalent field.
- Proven track record of managing complex projects from pre-contract through final account, including cost planning, procurement, contract administration, and risk management.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in coaching and developing junior QS team members.
- Highly organised, self-motivated, with strong attention to detail and delivery.
