Role overview

A confidential organisation in the advanced nuclear sector is seeking an Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Engineer I to support the design and integration of I&C systems for a UK-based Small Modular Reactor (SMR) programme.

This is an entry-level role suited to early-career engineers looking to develop their skills within a highly regulated, safety-critical engineering environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development of I&C system requirements and technical documentation.
• Assist with control logic descriptions and interface documentation.
• Participate in internal design reviews and engineering discussions.
• Support vendor technical evaluations and data reviews.
• Work under the guidance of senior I&C engineers to develop technical capability.

Required experience and qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Control, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Early-career experience, graduate placements, or relevant internships.
• Strong interest in working within regulated engineering environments.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
